Summer 2011

Briefly, I participated in a project called "Railway Keeper", a short animation, and modeled an alien for a friend of mine, Filipa Sousa.

First: short Science Fiction film

At the same time between Return Zero and Tell Tale Heart, I did this project called "First" for another class. It took us 3 weeks to work on the story, choose the location to film and create all effects.

Here's the video.



Team: Diogo Barbosa and I. Main actor Diogo Pinto and special thanks to Francisco Araújo.

Individual tasks included modeling the space ship and cockpit, some special effects, green screen lighting and tracking the green screen interior pieces. The rest I shared with Diogo.

Return Zero

Meanwhile, in November 2010, I worked on a project codenamed Zoe that became a few months later "Retun Zero". "Return Zero is a futuristic racing game inspired in Tron's design. With various colorful levels, the objective is to achieve the best time but with a twist. Catch several boosts and you will be able to reverse time.

Tell Tale Heart

"Tell Tale Heart" is a 3D animation based on Edgar Allan Poe's story, the "Tell Tale Heart". This project was created within my MA in Computer Animation. I worked with my colleges and the video that follows is a sample of that short film and the part I worked on.


In this scene I did the animation of  both characters, though the grandfather didn't move much. :)
Did the lighting, edited and all the post-production. I also modeled and textured the Hall ( room in the house where she lights the candle but is too dark to see it right)

September 2010 / June 2011

Fusebox

Fusebox is a"point & click" adventure game created during the final project of my BA in Sound and Image. I've worked on the story and design of the game. Also created the main character Norman, worked on some levels, concept art and interface.

I really enjoyed working on this project. It was small and personal project. We thought that we could build the whole game, but we didn´t have the skills back then to work that fast. : ) Maybe one day we'll resume work on it.

Hello World,
I felt the need to make this blog in order to create a timeline of my work and maybe use it as a Portfolio.
My area of interest is Game Design, but often I will show work of 3D art and Concept Design. 


At this present moment I'm finishing my MA degree in Computer Animation at Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
